Asthmatic Students: Florida Statue Title XVI, 232.47

Did you know that the Florida State Legislature Statue Title XVI, 232.47 states: An asthmatic student shall be able to carry a metered dose inhaler on their person while in school when they have approval from their parents and their physician. The school principal shall be provided with a copy of the parent’s and physician’s approval.

Download your own Asthma Action Plan (AAP) and have your child’s physician complete it. Ensure that the grey portion of the AAP is completed by both you & your child’s physician. Once completed, provide a completed copy of the AAP to your child’s school.
